Make Working, Work Out

I'm pretty sure we've all been there. It's a random, late night, and all of a sudden you get this overwhelming motivation to start exercising. You start looking at tik-toks of workout tips and tricks and get all motivated to start this awesome, life-changing workout routine tomorrow. now maybe you stick to this routine for a couple days, maybe a couple weeks. but sooner or later, you just fall out of motivation. For one reason or another, you just don't feel the same about the routine as when you first started. Not that theres anything wrong with that, but to you, It can be frustrating. And for me, it was. I like to think I'm a pretty active person. I like to go on runs, bike rides, I skip rope and weight lift. But like a lot of people, when winter comes around, I lose a lot of my motivation to keep exercising. Not only because of "seasonal slump" or whatever you want to call it, but quite literally because of the weather. No, seriously, LOOK AT MY BENCH PRESS:

It's already bad enough it's outside in the winter. But not only is all of my equipment frozen and broken down, but it's also just too cold outside most days to do anything for long periods of time. Plus with the recent snowstorm covering every road and sidewalk within an EVERYWHERE-mile radius, I'm not risking a head injury to go running or biking anytime soon. So, to combat all of this icy bullshit and God himself trying to stop me from workout out outdoors, I finally decided to go to the gym. and honestly, I'm going to make it a habit.

First of all, the amount of machines and gear available to me at the gym trumps any and ALL exercise I could've gotten at home. I'm fairly limited with what I have access to at home, so having such.a wide variety of machines is a nice change of pace. I took this picture when most of the people have left:

I mean sure, I have a bike with ACTUAL wheels at home, but for the sake of convenience, these bikes and runner...thingies are good too. Another thing is the open space You have access to. At home, I'd have to go outside to the patio in order to get enough space to skip or do whatever. But at the gym, there are entire spaces that more than triple that of my patio. Finally, it's kind of fun to have a social aspect with other people when you're all doing relatively the same thing. Sure, people get nervous when it comes to going to the gym and looking like they have no idea what they are doing. Fortunately for me however, I DO know what I'm doing, so I don't have that issue. And believe me, after the amount of time I've spent in isolation, quarantine, and keeping a ten-foot-pole between me and the nearest human being, It's nice to get to know some new people and socialize every now and then.

What I'm trying to get at here, is I know everyone works out differently, or not at all and thats fine. But sometimes when that motivation starts to drop down because of X, Y and Z, find a way to adapt and keep going with what you're doing. I've never gone a public gym prior to my first visit a couple days ago and I have been SERIOUSLY missing out. For me, keeping fit and exercising is such a great way to find some self fulfillment while keeping yourself healthy and happy. I mean, just look at my face here:

...Okay well you can't really see my face because of the mask, but trust me, I'm smiling under it.

So get after it today, tomorrow, whenever works best for you. But don't just say you're going to do it, ACTUALLY do it. This doesn't just have to apply to working out either. Whatever you need to do in your life, make the leap and the commitment and KEEP AT IT. wether you're learning a new skill or hobby, you want to try something new, Whatever it may be, if you like doing it and you truly want to get better at it. GET THE F@%& AFTER IT!
